As a father of two young children (with an in-depth knowledge of Paw Patrol, Sofia the First, Harry Potter, and more), Matt Ives understands the unique challenges and concerns families face when a child requires medical or surgical care. Known for his relaxed and friendly demeanour, he is a favourite among his younger patients, helping to create a calm and reassuring environment for children and their families.

Matt is highly skilled in paediatric plastic surgery, specialising in both trauma-related injuries and dermatological concerns. He recognises that having a child with a medical or surgical issue can be a stressful experience and works patiently with families to ensure everyone feels at ease. Whenever possible, Matt uses local anaesthesia for paediatric procedures, drawing on his expertise to deliver care in a stress-free and gentle manner for both parents and children, but  with access to general anaesthetic support if necessary.
